Lỗi thường gặp

✗ She interpreted me the poem.→✓ She interpreted the poem for me.

interpret không theo cấu trúc S + V + người + vật; dùng interpret something for someone.

✗ The data have been misinterpreted from him.→✓ The data have been misinterpreted by him.

Trong câu bị động, tác nhân được giới thiệu bằng by, không phải from.

✗ I interpreted him that the results were positive.→✓ I told him that the results were positive.

interpret không dùng để truyền đạt thông tin cho ai; dùng tell, explain, hoặc inform thay thế.
